This small painting of a Forty-spotted Pardalote was donated to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation as a “Mini Master” to support wildlife conservation. Found only in Tasmania, this endangered bird depends on the white gum woodlands that sustain it. I chose to portray it floating, without a solid perch, to express the uncertainty and fragility of its existence. Suspended in space, the bird becomes a quiet reflection on a species whose future is far from secure. Through this intimate portrait, I hoped to draw attention to both its delicate beauty and the importance of protecting its place in the world.
The Original Painting is professionally scanned and colour-corrected and is printed using fade-proof archival inks. The final result is very close to the original for a fraction of the cost!
